These packets included copies of all the material necessary to complete the work inside, and also included detailed instructions. The assignments are listed below in summary form to help students and parents double-check that the work has been completed.
Mrs. Gallegos will be available by email (ngallegos@olhcacademy.org) or by phone. If you don't have her phone number, please send her an email and she'll provide it to you directly.
4th Grade Lessons for May 11th - 15th (due on Monday, May 18th)
Religion: Answer the 15 questions on “Prayer” on the paper printed out for you. Turn in on Monday, May 18. Review the pages on religion about “Prayer” before you finish your questions.
Math: Turn in WB pg. 103 and WB pg. 104 as well as complete “Check your Progress” on pg. 290. Just write the answers.
Monday: review pgs. 282-283 on comparing fractions. Complete WB pg. 103.
Tuesday: read pgs. 284-285 on putting fractions in order from least to greatest and greatest to smallest. Practice putting fractions in order on pg. 285, number 1-16. This is not homework, just practice for you.
Wednesday: review putting fractions in order. Remember, if the denominator is the same, just look at the numerator. Whichever fraction has the biggest numerator, in this case, is the bigger fraction. When the denominator is different, you must find a common denominator and create an equivalent fraction in order to compare them. Complete WB pg. 104.
Thursday: Turn to pg. 290 in your book. This is the “Check your Progress” page. On a piece of lined paper, just write the answers for the problems from 1-31.
Friday: Review all sections from Chapter 8 on fractions. Write down any questions you may have on fractions.
Grammar: Analyze the 10 sentences on the grammar paper in this packet. Turn in on Monday, May 18.
Monday-Friday: review each part of speech in your grammar book. Make sure you understand the definition of each part of speech. Look over the parsing orders for each part of speech as well. Complete analyzing the 10 sentences.
Literature: write a one page summary about what you read on pgs. 85-116 in “Snow Treasure”. Turn this in on Monday, May 18. This is like a retelling where you need to talk about the important events that happened and in what order. You do not have to tell every little detail, just what is important to the plot of the story.
Science: Choose either a sea creature that lives in the ocean or a planet. I want you to start finding out some information about either your sea creature or about the planet. Ex: I want to find out more about the blue-ringed octopus. This is a sea creature that not many people know about. I will look up information on google, since libraries aren’t open yet. I am going to start writing down some interesting facts about this creature on some scrap paper. I don’t have to do anything with this information yet, but will need this information to give a speech to my classmates about this creature on our last Zoom class. DATE will be announced soon. ALL YOU NEED TO DO FOR THIS IS TO PICK EITHER A SEA CREATURE OR PLANET right now and start jotting down some cool facts about this creature or planet.
