9th Latin I - Archive
Greetings, Latin I students!
Well, this is an exciting new twist on studying Latin! I am
looking forward to our
video classes! Make sure you all tune in! We won’t be having too many, but I am
hoping that we get in one
or two per week starting next week! I will let you know when the first one is
beforehand.
Please, feel free to call me, text me, Marco Polo me, or email me at my school email address with any questions ANYTIME! 303-909-9740 / apfeiffer@olhcacademy.org
Please let me know ASAP if you are not able to print things at home!
The following are your assignments for Wednesday thru Friday of this week:
So, the workbook
Chapter 16
worksheet was due today, so just hang on to that and turn it in with
everything
else. (If anyone else that doesn’t have it, please print it and make sure you
complete it.)
We are at a perfect spot for the end of the quarter coming
up, as we are on Review 4.
Wednesday, March 18th:
Do the Vocabulary Drill on page 91, A,
B, and C orally. Make sure you say them aloud.
Then on a piece of loose leaf, do page 91-92, Drill on Forms A, B, and C.
On A, please write the original word which is given in the Nominative singular
first, i.e., Marcus, Marce.
On B, by giving a synopsis, you will be writing the verb in all six tenses that
we have learned: present,
imperfect, future, present perfect, pluperfect, and future perfect in the person
and number asked for:
i.e., a synopsis of amo in the 3rd person plural would be:
amant, amabant, amabunt, amaverunt, amaverant, amaverint
(Do not do the Imperative forms that they ask for)
Do not spend more than 40 minutes on this…what you don’t finish, you can finish tomorrow.
Thursday, March 19th: HAPPY FEAST OF SAINT JOSEPH!
Finish up
yesterday’s work and also do page 92, Drill
on Syntax on a separate sheet of loose leaf paper. Again, please do not spend
more than 40 minutes on this.
Friday, March 20th:
Exercise A, 1-5 and B, 1-5 on pages 92 & 93, on a separate sheet of loose-leaf paper.
These assignments will all be collected on this coming Sunday
and Monday, either day is fine to turn in. There will be boxes for turning in
Latin I homework and written work for your other classes in the vestibule. Thank you sooo much!

Greetings, class! I hope your first week of
homeschooling went well!!
I received a lot of questions, so that is good. Please, continue with the questions!
So, we will have a video class tentatively on Tuesday at 10:40 am. An invitation will be sent out to you by email.
Monday, March 23rd:
Please do p. 92 – 93 Exercise A, 5-10 and B, 6-10 on a separate sheet of loose-leaf paper.
Tuesday, March 24th:
Begin studying for a
“quest” on Review 4 (Chapters 13-16). This will include the three rules for i-stems,
you will have to give them just as they are on page 87, including examples for
each. Also, you will need to give the declensions chart up through the 3rd
declension, including the i-stem endings in parentheses.
Remember to study the vocabulary in the vocab drill on page 91. Study the
genitives, genders, and meanings of the 3rd declension nouns!
Wednesday, March 25th:
Study for quarter test.
Friday, March 27th:
The Latin I Quarter Test will be on Friday, March 27th. You may take it on line or print it off and fill it in; please be sure to turn it in before midnight.
This means you do not need to have your parents turn it in on Friday at the drop off. Just either scan it and email me it, or text me a picture of each page.

Monday, March 30
Copy the vocabulary on page 96 into your notebooks and read
aloud as you’re doing so.
Do page 96 A, 1-5 on loose leaf paper and be sure to tell what tense each verb
is before giving the translation - we will be starting on this during our zoom
class.
Tuesday, March 31st
Do page 96 A, 6-10 on looseleaf paper and be sure to tell
what tense each verb is before giving the translation.
Wednesday, April 1st
Do page 96 B, 1-10 on looseleaf paper and be sure to tell
what tense each verb is before giving the translation, we will do most of this
during our zoom class.
Thursday, April 2nd
Begin studying for a quiz on the vocabulary on page 96. The
quiz will be given next Monday, April 6th; I will give the English meaning, and
you will need to give me the four principal parts of the Latin verb that
corresponds to it.
Friday, April 3rd
Continue studying for the vocabulary quiz. The best way to do this is to say the four principal parts of each verb aloud several times each.
