Remember, not simple fact questions but thinking questions like we have discussed all year in class together. Keep paper/pen with you when you read.
After you read The Broken Note, watch this short video: The Story of the Krakow Heynal
If you would like to download an audio version of the book you may, but be sure to check with a parent first. (We use the Audible version in class).
If you do use an audiobook, be

Assignments for May 4th - 8th
We discussed Trumpeter up through Chapter 4 in our last Zoom class.
Read chapters 5-8 (p.59-p. 106) before our next class on Thursday May 7th.
We will have a brief comprehension quiz during class before we discuss these chapters.
Guided Commentary – Garden Recreation
Read the text thoroughly several times. Look up any words you do not know. Read the questions and brainstorm your ideas. Identify the places in the text that support your answers (hint: underline the quotes you can use in your passages).
Remember to introduce the text and do not simply give short answers for the questions. You should answer your questions completely in well-written paragraphs. I should have a complete understanding of the text and the questions after reading your commentary (without having the text/questions in front of me).
Write your final copy on loose-leaf paper, skip lines, and use your BEST handwriting.
