Assignments for the Week of 5/11/20 - 5/22/20

Dear Students and Parents,

We are getting close! There will be no new work assigned, this packet contains all work until the end of the year.

Since Zoom classes on 5/21 were cancelled due to Ascension Thursday, we will have a final "class send off" Zoom class on Friday, May 22nd at 3pm. We will answer any questions and get to say goodbye to our classmates.
We will have our Zoom class this Thursday at 3 pm as usual.

This past week, I told the students I planned to have them recite a poem for me this week, but since Zoom classes are optional, I am substituting a poetry discussion worksheet which will stand in place of that.

*Special end of year assignment*

***Please see enclosed sheet of names. Students, circle your own name on the paper and then write next to each persons name something nice about that person. This can be a good quality, or a favorite memory, or something that you like about that them or something you think they are good at. Absolutely no unkindness allowed!***

Science: (assigned last week) Read Snakes: Masters in Disguise on pgs. 358-367 of Science book, and do Comp. Checks 8.4 and 8.5 on pg. 368. This will be the only graded Science assignment for the quarter, please read, do questions carefully.

Poetry: Students, choose one of the poems and answer the questions on Poetry appreciation worksheet for that poem. This will be the only graded recitation, and will compose the "oral" Poetry grade for this quarter.

Composition : No new assignment

Due 5/26

Grammar: 3 assignments, 1 Test.

Adverb Review, Parts of Speech Puzzle and Parsing

Test: Please give test to the children when they have completed the other assignments. They should not use their parsing orders or book.

Poetry: Choose one of the two poems to copy as perfectly as you can, in your best penmanship. Then draw a picture to accompany the poem.  This assignment will be the only graded Penmanship grade AND Art grade, so please give your best effort!

History: Students have been given 2 packets to read and answer the following questions:

"The Moslem Threat": Answer Questions 3, 4

"The Conversion of Europe": Answer Questions 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7.
